WHITCHURCH Alport Football Club’s new manager is Adam Shillcock who will spearhead the club’s Midlands Premier League campaign.

Shillcock returns to the club to succeed Luke Goddard who he worked alongside as a coach before departing in 2022 to become manager of Salop Leisure Shropshire League side Market Drayton Town.

Chairman Mike Edge said: “After a thorough recruitment process, we are excited to confirm Adam’s appointment as our first team manager.

“His record at Market Drayton has been impressive and I am impressed also by his leadership and plan to guide us in the future. We welcome Adam to the club and look forward to a strong remainder of the season.

The Reds crashed out of the TJ Vickers Cup on Tuesday with a 3-0 defeat at home to Shifnal Town with Joe Ellis Cuff netting twice and Lewis Jarman completing the scoring.

Whitchurch were also edged out in a 4-3 defeat at home to Studley in the Midlands Premier League on Saturday with Zachary Guinan starring with a hat-trick while Zak Harbon completed the scoring.

Alex Hughes struck twice with Chris Aziamale also netting for the Reds.
Whitchurch 1946 prevailed in a 4-3 thriller at Ellesmere Rangers in the Salop Leisure Shropshire Premier League.
