PUPILS, parents and teachers at a north Shropshire have been collecting boxes of food and toiletries in recent weeks.

The collected items from Ellesmere College's Lower School were handed over to Ellesmere Food Share, which helps vulnerable people in the town who need food and clothes.

Head of Lower School, Shan Morgan said she was very proud of the pupils and their families for the work they have done to collect the donations.

"We wanted to do something to help Ellesmere Food Share and it's good that so many college families have supported this project," she said.

Food Share organiser, Anne Wignall, thanked the pupils for their generous donation and said it will be put to good use.

She said: “We are really grateful to everyone in the Lower School at Ellesmere College who has generously donated all types of food and toiletries.

“This will help to keep our shelves well stocked and will give our customers a good choice of food.

“The food share is for where there is a constant demand for support from local people who are struggling to make ends meet during the cost of living crisis.”
