PUPILS from a Whitchurch primary school welcomed an RAF helicopter to the grounds last week.

The aircraft landed in the grounds of Whitchurch CE Junior Academy (WJA) in Salisbury Road on Wednesday, March 15, to the delight of pupils.

The school had been celebrating British Science Week and parents who work in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) careers had been invited to come into the school to inspire pupils.

The day was organised by teacher Lily Evans along with science ambassadors for the school, and pupils were able to sit in the helicopter, try on the kit and ask the aircrew questions.
