Whitchurch Alport marked their return to Midlands Premier League action with a 5-1 defeat at home to Wulfrunians on Monday night.
Like every other team Alport paid their respect to the sad passing of HM Queen Elizabeth II by cancelling their weekend fixture at Alfreton Town.
Upon their return to action the Reds’ unbeaten start to the Midlands Premier League well and truly ended in front of 158 spectators.
The game was pretty much settled by half-time with Wulfrunians three goals to the good thanks to efforts from Jake Webb, Aaron Bishop and Jumaane Kyle Meggoe
The visitors underlined why they were second in the the table with a superb all round display.

Alport lost goalkeeper Ash Rawlins on the stroke of half-time with midfielder Dan Skelton taking the gloves for the second-half and could not prevent Bishop adding his side's fourth.
Top scorer Alex Hughes came on as a substitute and reduced the arrears but Wulfrunians had the final say with Ashley Jackson finding the net with a few minutes remaining.
Alport will lick their wounds and go again this Saturday with another tough looking trip to Worcester
