WEM toasted a rare victory in the second division of the Birmingham Premier League with an 80 run triumph at Bromsgrove on Saturday.

Chris Peel (81no) was joined by Graham Wagg (69) and Matthew Cohen (37) in guiding Wem to 243-5 to defend with Freddie Fallows (2-65) leading the home attack.

Alex Milton (47) and Connor Smith (46) led Bromsgrove’s reply but James Astley (4-25), Wagg (3-36) and Alex Ollerenshaw (2-31) ended their challenge for 163.

Meanwhile Whitchurch eased to a 68 run victory at Oswestry in the Mansfield Sports Group Shropshire Premier League.

Michael Robinson (105) starred with Iftikhar Khan (56) and Kunal Dabas (53no) leading Whitchurch to 269-4 with Max Lloyd (2-22) leading the home wickets.

Josh Darley (49), Charlie Morris (31) and Josh Kirk (30) led the home side’s reply with Daniel Bowen (3-44), Jack Giddings (2-23) and Dabas (2-17) completing Oswestry’s demise for 201.
