One person was reportedly left with injuries after a two-car crash led to Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) being called to Whitchurch on Wednesday.

One crew from Wem was sent to the B5395 in Whitchurch at around 7.20pm after the incident which, according to Whitchurch community groups on social media, left one person with injuries.

A SFRS spokesman said that firefighters were called to make the scene safe and that officers from West Mercia Police were in control of the situation.

They added: “The incident involved a two-car RTC.

“Our crew made the vehicles safe and the incident was handed over to police.”

A stop message was sent to SFRS control at around 8.05pm to confirm no further support was required at the scene.

A West Mercia Police spokesman, however, said they were not aware of any injuries.

They said: "We were called to a two-car collision on Edgeley Gardens in Whitchurch at around 7.40pm on the evening of Wednesday, March 20.

"No injuries were reported."
