AFTER the dust settled on a magnificent 2023 event, organisers of Alderfest have confirmed the news we all wanted to hear – they'll be back for 2024!

Kelly Lowe, business development manager at Whitchurch’s Alderford Lake which hosts the summer festival, says the decision to go again in 12 months has been made.

Superstar dancers AJ and Curtis Pritchard, from near Whitchurch, will be back hosting the whole weekend, keeping everyone entertained with their hilarious humour and crowd-pleasing charm.

The event promises to deliver again after superb performances in 2023 from Sam Ryder and McFly, who joined together for a one-off duet much to the delight of Whitchurch fans.

Kelly, also from Whitchurch, added the planning for such a major event was an ‘honour’ for her.

She added: “Following on from 2023, we took some time out to discuss the feasibility of Alderfest 2024; we wanted more than anything to make it happen but it had to be viable.

OTHER NEWS:

“We are a small family-run business and organise this ourselves with a handful of amazing contractors.

“Putting on the festival comes with a lot of expense (and sleepless nights), we wanted to ensure it was the right decision to go for another year.

“The absolutely incredible feedback we had from 2023 made our decision much easier, we couldn’t not bring Alderfest back for another year.

“Having lived in Whitchurch all my life, having the opportunity to organise such a big event here is a huge honour, seeing the tourism it has brought into the town and the impact it has had on the local businesses is brilliant and something we want to continue for years to come.

“Roll on 2024.”
