We Are Whitchurch member Adele Jackson said: "It is just fantastic.
"We have all pulled together as team to do the planting and we have received positive feedback from people about how it looks.
"And we have now started with phase two already."
She added: "We did the planting for the sensory garden. We planted a mixture of plants. We will be putting in different sensory objects as well."
"It took a few days. We put in a big effort on the open Sunday.
"A lot of us were on our hands and knees doing a major part of the planting."
Adele continued: "We have been measuring up for the sections of the second phase.
"It is just a matter of planting and keeping it watered now."
"We have got some funding for the second phase. I think it is going to be an ongoing project which we continue to add to."
The We Are Whitchurch senior member said people in the town are pleased to see the first phase of the project completed.
Adele said: "It has been really positive. People have been fabulous about it and come in and say how lovely it is. It is great.
"We never do it for praise. We do it because it is something we want to do and we enjoy doing it. It is great people will benefit from it.
"We all feel passionate about making spaces more amazing again.
"With the community allotments, local people are going to benefit from learning to garden and grow vegetables."
Adele hopes to see more volunteers involved with the group.
She said: "We hope people look after it. We would like to get new volunteers getting involved. We have a lot of volunteers, but many are busy.
