POTENTIAL amateur thespians are being urged to follow their acting dreams by attending a session in Whitchurch next week.

Whitchurch Little Theatre is holding an open reading night at the end of April which will form part of preparations for the group’s summer tour.

Jenny Matthews, from the Little Theatre, says the open evening can help people learn more about what it takes while also offering the group a chance to audition for specific roles.

She said: “Anyone interested in having a go at acting should come along to an open evening/play reading hosted by Whitchurch Little Theatre Group this month.

“From 7pm on Tuesday, April 25 members of the group can be found upstairs at the town's Civic Centre reading a couple of one-act comedies they plan to perform in June.

“This is when they go 'on tour' to local village halls performing an evening of short, usually funny, plays.

“The reading will be relaxed with refreshments served.

“This year's summer tour will take place from the week beginning June 19 and anyone interested in taking part or helping in any way is welcome to call in.

OTHER NEWS:

“One of the plays 'Changing Rooms' does need three young people late teens or early 20s, so come with your friends.

“Actual dates and venues are still being confirmed.

“And if you can't take part in the tour but are interested in joining the group in any capacity on or off stage, do still come along and meet the members.

“All ages are welcome and any further information is available on 07506 724572.”
