ELLESMERE Rangers returned from Stockport Town 3-1 winners in the North West Counties South League on Saturday.

William Evans broke the deadlock with 20 minutes remaining and just moments later Owen Lloyd doubled their lead.

Callum Graybrook settled the outcome for the Swans with nine minutes on the clock before the hosts reduced the arrears with a late consolation from Thomas Morris.

Earlier in the week the Swans battled to a 1-0 win at home to Stafford Town courtesy of Ryan Allcock’s goal with the Shropshire club now within striking distance of a play-off place.

Whitchurch Alport shared the Midlands Premier League spoils in a feisty 2-2 draw at home to Lichfield City.

Jordan Evans fired the Reds into an early lead but a Matt Hunt double saw the visitors lead at the break.

Ellesmere Rangers slipped to a 4-1 defeat at Allscott Heath in division one of the Staffordshire Women’s League with Sophie Bayliss’ strike consolation as Kiera Brookes, Ella Garbett, Kaitlin Brookes and Aimee Fisher struck for the hosts.

Prees United lost 3-0 at Tipton Town with goals from Sally Hill. Samantha Pitchford and Sarah Speke.
