WHITCHURCH Hockey Club was recognised for a remarkable campaign at the North West Hockey awards last week.

The club’s women’s first team celebrated winning North West Division Four South (Central).

The side won the league with 21 wins and one draw and ended with a 12 points advantage over their nearest rivals having scored 117 goals and conceded 20.

The ladies move into North West Division Three West for the 2023/24 season and will open their campaign by travelling to play Chester IIs for their first game on Saturday, September 23rd.

The club continue to move forward with a number of players from the women’s second team who gained promotion in the 2021/22 season having moved up to take places in the senior team.

Captain Catherine Gresty, shown collecting the league winners plate with ladies club captain Lisa Sullivan is looking forward to the new season and new challenges of playing in a higher league.
