A MALPAS pub has launched its Christmas programme starting this weekend.

The Lion at Malpas, in the High Street, has announced its Christmas activity schedule and warmly welcomes and invites locals and visitors alike to partake in its upcoming festivities.

Starting on Sunday, December 3 and running right through to the New Year, The Lion will play host to an array of fantastic festive events to ensure the people of Malpas celebrate the holiday season in the right way.

From Santa-filled Sundays to lively New Year's celebrations, The Lion promises a season of joy and community spirit.

A pub spokesman said: There will be Sunday Lunch With Santa on December 3 and 7 from 12pm to 4pm.

“Experience the magic of the season with Sunday Lunch with Santa. Children are invited to an enchanting encounter with the big man himself, receiving a special gift to cherish. Admission is free, reservations are required for dining.

“There will be a Christmas Film Extravaganza on December 10 from 4pm to 8pm.

“Embrace the cinematic enchantment with a Christmas Film Extravaganza. Families can enjoy the heart-warming tale of 'The Grinch,' followed by the adult favourite, 'Bad Santa.' Admission is free, with the room opening at 7:30pm.

“The bar will be open, and popcorn will be available.

“Carols with One Achord on December 19 at 7pm.

“Savour the sounds of the season with Carols by One Achord. The Lion welcomes you to enjoy an evening filled with the timeless charm of Christmas carols, complemented by complimentary mulled wine and mince pies.

“Christmas Eve Extravaganza from 7pm to 12am promises live music and a spirited Christmas Jumper competition at The Lion.

“The stakes are high, with a £25 voucher for the winner and complimentary drinks for the two runners-up. No admission fee, just bring your festive spirit.

“On Christmas Day, The Lion at Malpas opens its doors for Christmas drinks from 12pm to 2pm.

“Extend the holiday cheer into Boxing Day with breakfast starting at 8am and food service from 12pm to 8pm. Reservations are strongly recommended for this delightful post-Christmas feast.
