WHITCHURCH Library closure has been extended for urgent repairs until Monday, September 18, following RAAC discovered to the rear of the building.
Originally the closure was meant to last until Thursday, September 14, but now it has been extended for the public and staff’s safety until Monday at 9.30am.
This closure is affecting the operation of their temporary Reception Hub and the Shropshire Council Registrar service.

A spokesperson from the Whitchurch Council said: “We apologise for the ongoing inconvenience, but the safety of the public and our staff must come first.
“This is an unfortunate situation, but be assured that these decisions are not taken lightly and the safety of the public and our staff are paramount.
“We hope to be able to give a more comprehensive outline of reparative works next week, once initial investigations have been completed.
“Thank you, again, for your understanding and for the kind thoughts of those who have contacted us.”
