MATERNITY services at a county hospital are still closed after it lost power, Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust has confirmed.

The services for maternity and children are currently affected by a broken generator at the site in the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford.

Bosses at SaTH say they are working hard to ensure power is restored to the building as soon as possible.

A spokesperson for SaTH said: “We remain temporarily closed to admissions for maternity, neonates and children’s services.

“We would encourage women and families that need urgent maternity advice to contact our maternity triage team first, rather than neighbouring hospitals, so we can help you get to the right place for their needs.

“Other services at the Princess Royal Hospital, including the Emergency Department remain open. We continue to work closely with our neighbouring hospitals and are grateful for their support.”
