Triton Ladies 2s 4 Whitchurch ladies 1s 3
Ladies 1s travelled to play Triton 2s and with dark clouds looming they found themselves playing in a snow shower against Triton for most of the first half. It was very difficult to see the ball and within the first five minutes Triton scored. A break of blue sky and Whitchurch stung some fantastic, accurate passes managing to get the ball up into the Triton dee for Laura Workman to score from a pass in from Grace Berry.
However, Triton found it easy to score two more before half time. But after a quick break and a change of ends Whitchurch played hard and were awarded a penalty flick which Hebe Dixon scored into the bottom left corner.
Triton won a short which they scored from a straight strike. Whitchurch kept the pressure on and worked hard getting a run of penalty corners but couldn't convert.
With minutes left Helen Machin passed to Berry to slip past the keeper, but time ran out for Whitchurch and walked away with a 4 -3 loss.
Whitchurch Men’s 2s 7 Denbigh Men’s 2s 0
Denbigh arrived at Whitchurch in the middle of a blizzard. Whitchurch started quickly; within minutes Airon Jones rounded the keeper to score his first senior goal for the club. Whitchurch continued to pressure the Denbigh defence and as the ball hit a foot on the line Whitchurch were awarded a penalty stroke which Craig Hockenhull converted before Nick Cooper opened his account deftly deflecting past the keeper
Whitchurch continued to create chances. Jack Barnes scored a quick brace to give Whitchurch a comfort zone. Despite attacking on the break Whitchurch stopped the Denbigh counter-attacks. Hockenhull's second of the game and a second from Nick Cooper saw Whitchurch obtain a well deserved three points.
