THE Carabao Cup first round draw takes place tomorrow as part of the EFL’s fixture release day.

Wrexham reached round four last season, for the first time since 1978, after beating Hull City, Preston North End and Reading, but the Reds bowed out in the last 16 against Cardiff City and missed out on a quarter-final place.

The 2026-27 campaign kicks off with the Carabao Cup, with the first round scheduled for the weekend of August 7-9.

Round One will feature 70 clubs - the two winners from the preliminary round alongside the other 68 EFL clubs - with the draw regionalised into northern and southern sections.

Wrexham are one of 34 teams in the northern section and are ball number 33. There are 36 sides in the southern section.

The draw will take place place live on Sky Sports News at 4:30pm, after the EFL Championship fixtures are confirmed at 12pm. The draw will be made live on Sky Sports News.

It will be presented by Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth, while former Bolton Wanderers and West Ham United midfielder Kevin Nolan will join former Ipswich Town and Nottingham Forest defender, Luke Chambers in picking out the balls.
