Freya Anderson is set to compete at the Commonwealth Games, Team England has confirmed.
The 25-year-old ex-Ellesmere College swimmer from Birkenhead is among a 42-strong squad named for the 2026 Games, which will be held in Glasgow.
Anderson will be supported by a squad featuring 28 swimmers and 14 para swimmers, including both returning champions and emerging talent.
The team will compete at the Tollcross International Swimming Centre from July 24 to July 29.
Jonathon Riall, Team England’s chef de mission, said: "It’s brilliant to be able to announce such strong swimming squads for Glasgow 2026.
"We have a number of returning Commonwealth champions and true stars of the sport, alongside some new faces who are set to make their mark this summer."
The overall squad brings together some of the country’s best swimming talent, including Uttoxeter’s Adam Ramsay-Peaty, a four-time Commonwealth Games champion.

In para swimming, the squad features past champions such as Poppy Maskill, Rebecca Redfern, William Ellard, Brock Whiston, and Louise Fiddes.
Two-time Commonwealth gold medallist Alice Tai will also return, aiming for her third consecutive S9 100m backstroke title.
Richard Blackshaw, Swim England’s head of sport and Team England’s team leader for swimming, said: "The swimming team is immensely proud and excited to have the opportunity to represent Team England and the English swimming community at the Commonwealth Games, an honour that does not come around often for athletes.
"What makes this team particularly special is its fully integrated nature, bringing together para and Olympic pathway athletes to compete as one unified group, reflecting the very best of inclusivity and shared ambition."
