GEORGE DOBSON promised Wrexham fans that the players will go ‘full throttle’ in their bid to make the Championship play-offs.
Wrexham return to action at West Bromwich Albion where they’ll be cheered on by 2,500 travelling Reds supporters at The Hawthorns this afternoon.
Seventh in the table with seven games to go, workaholic midfielder Dobson insists Wrexham must have ‘no fear and no regrets’ heading into what could be another historic end to the season for Phil Parkinson’s side.
“These are the games you want to play, competing to get in the best league in the world,” said Dobson, who has been a revelation at The Racecourse since moving on a free transfer in 2024.
“There’s nothing to fear and we’re competing for an incredible prize.
“We’ve got ourselves in a really good position and we can just go full throttle basically for the next seven games and just give it as good as we’ve got. We can’t have any regrets.”
Reds boss Phil Parkinson says his players are chomping at the bit to get back into action after the two-week international break.
“We’ve utilised the break well,” said Parkinson. “I think most significantly is trying to get the injured players as close as we can to bulk the numbers up in the squad and give us more options.
“So we’ve been able to do that and, of course, there’s players who’ve had a lot of football who needed a bit of time off as well.
“The lads have had a few days to be away from the club and have a couple of days away with the families.
“I think that’s really important mentally to be refreshed as well as physically.
“You can tell everyone’s chomping at the bit to get going again.
“I could feel that with the lads in training, I really could.
“It’s exciting; going down the Hawthorns, we’re going to have a big away following down there. Tickets sold out almost instantaneously and obviously we can’t wait for the game.
“I just want to tell the fans to keep enjoying it.”
