WREXHAM caused an FA Cup upset by beating Premier League strugglers Nottingham Forest in the last round and Ollie Rathbone will approach tonight's game against Ipswich Town exactly the same.

The Reds won 4-3 on penalties against Forest after drawing 3-3 - Phil Parkinson's men led 2-0 and 3-1 before being pegged back - and the reward is a fourth round date with Championship rivals Ipswich at The Racecourse.

Although underdogs in the third round, Wrexham might be seen as favourites this evening with having home advantage and both the Reds and the Tractor Boys being in the second tier play-off places but Rathbone says he treats every game the same regardless of who the opposition are.

"League form goes out of the window in the cup but we approach every game the same and it will be no different on Friday," he said

"We will take the same attitude from the Nottingham Forest game.

"Ipswich are an outstanding team, a Premier League team last year, so not too dis-similar really."

Wrexham have a proud tradition in the famous competition after causing numerous shocks over the years and while the league comes first, Rathbone says the cup is magical.

"The FA Cup is a huge part of the English game and I know how special it is for this club with the history it has got in it," he said.

"The last round we gave the club one of those moments that people will talk about for a long time and hopefully this can be the same.

"We'll try and win the game because winning is a habit.

"It is a huge chance for the players to get more confident going into a huge run of league games."

Rathbone played his part in the memorable win against Forest when he put Wrexham 2-0 up and he's hoping for more of the same against Ipswich.

"Obviously the last round, we had a great night here at The Racecourse," said Rathbone.

"Hopefully Friday night won't be any different.

"I would take that (scoring) again, maybe one or two this time!

"Ever since I have been here it has been a fantastic place to play football and I am sure the atmosphere will be fantastic again."
