Prees Cricket Club, part of the larger Prees Cricket and Recreation Club, has a long history dating back to at least the mid-19th century, with formal documents from the 1862 cricket club being presented to the club in the 1960s.
The club ground itself has been in use since at least the early 1930s.
The club's ground was officially opened around June 1932.
A significant development occurred in 1973 when a major ground improvement project was undertaken, which included using former tennis courts and leased church land to create a relocated and levelled cricket pitch.
Under the guidance of long-serving chairman Ray Grocott, a new, modern clubhouse was envisioned and constructed, opening in 2005.
The sale of some land, including a former bowling green, helped fund this development.
