WHITCHURCH Alport booked their place in the next round of the Emirates FA Cup with a 2-1 win over Wolverhampton Casuals at the KMJ Mortgages Stadium this afternoon.

The first real chance arrived midway through the first-half with Adam Clayton forcing a save from goalkeeper Matheus Pinneiro with Alex Hughes ballooning the rebound over the bar.

Pinniero was also tested on 27 minutes to claw away Ivan Urvantev's free-kick as the Wolverhampton side kept the tie goalless at the break.

The visitors broke the deadlock early in the second-half with Oliver Waddison pouncing from close range.

The Reds toiled and were back in the tie with 20 minutes remaining with Ryan Allcock on target after good work by Aaron Simms following Urvantev's free-kick.

Urvantev fired wide two minutes later as the Reds continued to press while Hughes also saw a headed effort ruled offside with nine minutes left on the clock.

The pressure told with seven minutes remaining when Urvantev was fouled in the area and Hughes despatched the resulting penalty to book a date at Belper Town in the next qualifying round of the Emirates Cup on August 21.
