WEM made light work of Harborne in a 45 run victory in the Birmingham Premier League second division.

Harry Chandler (28) opened well before Matthew Cohen (64) guided the home side to 211 with support from Danny Cohen (37no).

Jasper Davidson (5-44) led the visiting attack while George Land (2-43) also claimed wickets.

Tom Payne (39) and Davidson (25) were joined by Tejas Wagle (49no) in offering middle order resistance in reply.

However Danny Cohen (2-24), Mohit Kale (2-26) and a masterclass from Tom Astley (4-24) completed Harborne's demise for 166.

Elsewhere Whitchurch stormed to a 104 run victory over Shelton in the Henshalls Shropshire Premier League.

Maisam Jaffri (189) starred for the hosts while Andy Jones (52) helped guide Whitchurch to a commanding 294-3 to defend.

Ross Griffiths (2-105) led the Shelton attack.

Daniel Bowen (3-34) led Whitchurch's attack in reply before Ryan Brown (4-49) took centre stage with the key wicket of Pabel Saha (30).

Ijaz Yousaf (3-30) also snared Tim Brierly for 48 in his haul and despite the best efforts of Ben Matthews (56no), Whitchurch completed Shelton's demise for 190 in the 46th over.

Meanwhile Wem IIs slipped to a four wicket defeat in their Henshalls Shropshire League Division Three opener at Madeley IIs.

Steve Blenkinsop (123no), with support from Jack Davies (30) carried Wem to 227-6 to defend with Callum Hodson (4-52) the pick of the home attack.

Linky Sharma (64) and Jack Loftus (29) laid the foundations for Doug Reynolds (111no) to guide Madeley to 230-6 and victory in the 36th over of their reply.

Josh Gough (3-41) led the attack for Wem with support from Stuart Raine (1-49), Harry Astley (1-99) and Dave Barnett (1-22).

Elsewhere Ellesmere and Knockin also played out a draw in division two.

The home side posted 149 to defend with Knockin closing on 139-9 in reply to claim a share of the spoils.
