WREXHAM head to Bromley tomorrow with Kwame Thomas pleased his all-round game has been pivotal in helping the Reds embark on a rich vein of form.

Dean Keates' side visit Hayes Lane on the back of four clean sheets and three successive wins - the latest a 4-0 thrashing of high-flying Sutton in midweek - which has taken Wrexham up to sixth in the National League.

Thomas drew praise from the Reds boss for the effort he puts in leading the line and it was worth it as the striker scored twice against the U's to take his tally for the season to three goals.

"In the previous two 1-0 wins, me and Jordan Ponticelli, and Adi Yussuf when he came on, worked really hard for the team," said Thomas.

"We have been part of those clean sheets and not just the defence.

"But it was good for me personally to feel like I am getting rewards for the hard work that we are putting in up front, and the same thing for Adi coming on and scoring.

"As a striker your first job is to score goals and I am happy to be able to help the team by getting two."

Thomas, who opened his Wrexham account in last month's win at Yeovil, got his first Reds' goals at The Racecourse but scoring in front of empty stands with fans not being allowed to attend matches because of the coronavirus meant it was bittersweet.

"It would definitely have been better if the fans were here," said Thomas.

"Hopefully we can have them back safely soon."

Thomas stressed the importance of building on easily their best performance and result of the campaign when they face Bromley.

"It is about consistency now and there is no point doing this if we are not going to replicate it tomorrow," said Thomas.

"We have got to go and get a result at Bromley now.

"We go there confident with four clean sheets and three straight wins - we have got no reason not to go there full of confidence, but definitely not over confident.

"Just keep working hard like we have been doing as a platform for everything else."

Even though Wrexham have only played nine games and there is still more than three-quarters of the season remaining, Thomas would rather be in the Reds' current position in the play-offs than lower down the table.

"It is good to be in the position that we are in," said Thomas.

"I think we deserve to be in the position we are in and now it is just about keep putting performances on performances, and see if we can add to this run and add to the clean sheets that we have been getting.

"We have got our own aims so as long as we run our own race like the gaffer always says, there is no reason why we can't be up there come the end of the season.

"It is good where we are at now and hopefully we can continue, and more goals!"
