WREXHAM supporters are looking forward to an exciting journey when Hollywood stars Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds complete their takeover at The Racecourse.

The actors have been given the green light by Wrexham Supporters Trust members and will become new owners of the club in the next few weeks.

Wrexham's profile has gone to a new level with the Reds - who have since won three National League games in a row - receiving global publicity, and supporters are looking forward to exciting times on and off the pitch under the duo.

Fans were asked for their thoughts on the takeover and how McElhenney and Reynolds have come across so far, and here are their answers.

MEILIR ELLIS: "Surreal."

JASON TEBBLE: "This is a golden opportunity to break into league two and beyond, no one can see into the future however in my humble opinion we have nothing to lose. This can only be good for the club and North Wales as a whole. Time will tell but for me it’s a gamble well worth taking."

LIAM BRAISDELL: "Immense for the town and the club. We’ve spent years in mediocrity. Now is our time!"

WARREN BARTON: "They have both come across with passion for not only our football club but wrexham and north wales, its a win win situation, even more when a new chairman is appointed to run the club professionally as they stated on the zoom call, happy days."

CHRIS ROBERTS: "This is absolutely brilliant for the club and the town. Put Wrexham well and truly back on the map. Exciting to see the future and R+R’s plans."

GRAHAM MALONEY: "They have both very quickly become not only part of the club but of the wider community too. It has only been incredibly positive so far. Wrexham is truly a special club; I'd say even unique. Rob and Ryan have quickly grasped this and I can only see good things from here!"

A WELSHMAN ABROAD: "Genuinely a new dawn for the club & a long term boost for the town. I now have people asking where I come from & actually knowing where Wrexham is, in America that's miraculous. R&R have brought a positivity @ hope to the fans. Good people doing good things. Brilliant."

ROBIN EDWARDS: "They have been absolutely brilliant so far doing and saying all the right things. A big test will be how they (or the new CEO) tackle the Keates and Darlington issues."

MARK BARNES: "Their presentation was fantastic, but we mustn’t forget that Rob McElhenny writes fictional feel-good scripts for a living. They’ve said all the right things, but ultimately, it’s what they’ll do that matters. Hopefully they won’t let us down."

TOBY JONES: "Seems the skys the limit here. The 2 of em have come across well. I suppose the next step of CEO appointment will be welcomed coupled with a steady climb up the league, new management to play good football and history shows if ya get outta this league ya can reach league 1."

ANDREW CRONSHAW: "Excellent news for the town and fans!! We have not had a lot to sing about the past few years and it is great exposure for Wrexham putting us on the international map!! The takeover will be great for local businesses and hopefully see Ryan and Rob in the Turf for an Aviation Gin."

NEAL: "So far I see no negatives, looking into how they’ve conducted themselves in previous investments I have no doubt that they will take this seriously. We’ll just hopefully keep up the pace on the field."

SEAN PRINCE: "All positives. Can’t see any problem."

EL DUDERINO: "There’s not a single bad thing about it, genuine people, lot of doe and ambition."

R&R MCREYNOLDS COMPANY: "It’s a deal where they’ll scratch our back if we scratch theirs. We get good investment, high quality sponsorships etc and they get to sell a documentary during it. Also grows the profile of the club massively and creates foundations when they leave to compete at higher levels."

DEJA: "Excited in a time where things are so bad this is a good news story. Their appointment of ceo or dof will give us an indication how fast this project may progress."

JONA DEVITT: "The Trust did it’s job kept us going and that’s lead to this amazing new chapter. Once the media circus dies down, and it will, I look forward to some genuine success. There’ll be bumps too I’m sure, I just hope when we can get back in I can get my seat again!"

LADY SIMPSON: "Its the most positive thing to happen to the club & town in ages. They come across as good guys with a great sense of humour which bodes well, given the team are currently stuck in the National League. Fans know we have a story worth telling & that we deserve league football."

TONY WHILDING: "They’ll know from their successful careers how important good PR is, whilst it’s very early days they’re ticking a lot of boxes and the exposure the club is having worldwide as a result is surreal."

PAUL JONES: "Great for the fans, great for the town, great all-round."
