DEAN KEATES will be out of pocket if his side's second goal in the thrashing of Sutton United is awarded to Jay Harris - but he won't be complaining.

Wrexham beat the high-flying U's 4-0 at The Racecourse to register a third win in a row and fourth successive clean sheet, taking the Reds up to sixth in the National League.

Kwame Thomas scored twice and fellow striker Adi Yussuf came off the bench and was also on target, although there is some dispute who got the final touch for the second goal.

Elliott Durrell's free-kick into a packed penalty area seemed to come off a Sutton defender but captain Harris claims he put the ball into the back of the net.

If that is the case Keates will have to meet his end of the bargain and pay into the squad's fine kitty, with the Reds' boss agreeing to stump up cash every time one of his players scored from a set-piece.

"I am arguing with Jay!" said Keates.

"I always say set-plays are massive at any level of football - 40 per cent of goals are scored from set-plays.

"There is a fine kitty, the discipline side of what we do within the group and in the changing room; I decide the fines so I have to offer them something back.

"My offer back to them is every goal that we score from a set-play, I will put £25 in their fine kitty.

"Jay is doing his best to get it. Unfortunately, I have seen that you have given it to him but I will have to watch it back because I am sure their centre-back gets to it last!"

Whoever is awarded the goal, Keates was just pleased that Wrexham made the most of a set-piece.

"Jay has made his run, he has done the right thing, and we have put the ball in the right area," added Keates.

"You put the ball in the right area, you make teams defend and you have got a good opportunity of something going in your favour but it was an own goal!

"Maybe I will take the hit on this but we will see!"
