THE Whitchurch summer 'ruthless darts singles' has started.

The competition kicked off last Monday evening, attracting players from as far as Telford, Chester, Nantwich, Malpas as well as Seventeen players from Whitchurch.

In total twenty four players will compete against each other over the summer months contesting a ruthless 301 straight start, double finish format played over four legs.

Rowan Price set the standard winning all four games without dropping a leg firing an eight and nine dart legs in the process, whilst Che Kerin went one better pitching the weeks best seven dart leg, leading the way at the top by virtue of playing more games.

Last season's winner, Danny Humphries was close to the perfect six dart leg throwing a maximum followed by single 20, treble 17 before wiring the bullseye leaving 25.

Nigel Neale fired the night's highest checkout of 158 whilst also taking out 102 to complete a nine dart leg while Telford’s Andy Mullinder had checkouts of 112 and 106 as he won four of the five games he contested.

Out of the eight women who have entered the summer league, three of them, Masie Haley, Hayley Griffiths & Heather Radcliffe all enjoyed four-nil victories.

Ayden Edge hit his first ever maximum in his match with Dave Wade, who had himself fired a first maximum, although both players would have to be content with a two-two draw, one of five draws from the thirty nine matches played over a hectic night at the Bulls Head in Whitchurch.

Retaining the theme of Olympian pub sports, the Bulls head is the venue for the summer Dominos knockout on June 5.

Registration at 8pm, first domino dropped at half past.
