West Midlands Regional League
Division One
Tipton Town 0-6 Wem Town
Free-scoring Wem moved closer to the Division One title and promotion by maintaining their fantastic rate of more than four goals a game for the last two months.
Jim Astley and Dave Walbyoff both scored braces to keep yup their excellent form, with Tom Astley and Christian Oldham weighing in with a goal apiece.
It means Wem keep their 12-point lead at the top with four games to go, although Newport Town have two games in hand.
On Saturday, they head to Bromyard Town for a 3pm kick-off but the club is putting on a coach for £8 leaving at 11.45am – ring Jess on 07875483534 to claim a limited space.
Shropshire Premier Division
Prees 3-6 Shrewsbury Juniors
The Rec Men's title hopes were all-but-extinguished on Saturday when they suffered a second heavy consecutive defeat.
It means they are seven points behind Oakengates Athletic, but would need to beat them on Saturday (3pm) and hope the leaders slip up in their final league clash.
Preees would also need to turn their own form around and win their remaining games to stand a chance.
