Tennis players have made their countries proud on the international stage.
Karen Sullivan, from Prees, and Rob Rue, who lives in Shrewsbury, were selected to compete in the Masters Senior Four Nations 2026, an LTA event featuring teams from England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales.
Sullivan represented England’s ladies over-45s team in Glasgow, while Rue captained the Wales men’s over-70s team in Newport.

Both have also competed for Shropshire’s county age group teams and regularly play in ITF World Tennis Masters tour events.
Sullivan said: "Playing for England was a real honour and something I’m very proud of.
"It was an amazing experience, and everyone involved was so welcoming and supportive.
"I feel very grateful to have had the opportunity."
England finished second overall in Glasgow, behind champions Scotland.
Rue’s Welsh team, meanwhile, finished joint second alongside Scotland in the combined over-70s and 75s categories in Newport, with England taking the overall title.
Both Sullivan and Rue regularly compete on the ITF World Tennis Masters tour, which offers high-level events for players aged over 30.
