Whitchurch Alport's impressive Capelli Midlands League run under manager Jayson Starkey gathered further momentum after Saturday's 1-0 victory over play-off chasing Lye Town at the Dourish & Day Stadium.
The result leaves the Reds now seven unbeaten and with five wins in their last seven games.
Starkey named the same starting XI as the midweek draw against Midland League table-toppers Northwich Victoria.

Both teams largely neutralised each other in a half of few chances.
The Reds' best opportunity fell to Harry Morris, whose onrushing header from Adam Jasper's cross went agonisingly wide of the Town keeper's post.

Whitchurch started much brighter after the interval and deservedly took the lead on 53 minutes.
A superb pinpoint cross from Ollie Holden was met by the head of Alex Hughes, whose bullet header flew past Lye Town keeper Gael Mfuamba, giving him no chance.

The Reds continued to dominate and should have made the game safe when Marques Trowers was put clean through by Hughes but could only shoot straight at Mfuamba.
As much as the visitors tried to get back into the game, they were superbly marshalled by captain Freddie Bishton, who was making his 100th club appearance and controlled any offensive play from Lye.

As the Reds continued their impressive recent run, it will be tested again on Tuesday night with a visit to Stone Old Alleynians, quickly followed by the visit of Highgate United to the Dourish & Day Stadium next Saturday.
