Wem teenager named best young cricket player in Shropshire

THE stars of the past Shropshire Cricket League season have been recognised.

Wem teenager Ralph Davies was named the James Corfield Young Player of the Season in recognition of his impressive season while Wem Cricket Club’s Mary Logan won the Craig Simms Scorer of the Year Award.

Wem duo Harry Chandler and Alex Ollerenshaw were joined by Whitchurch’s Alex Heath in the premier division team of the year.

Josh Coleridge of Oswestry was joined by Frankton’s Thomas Welti in the first division team of the year while Knockin and Kinnerley Cricket Club’s Jeanne-Pierre Erasmus made the cut for the second division select.

Whitchurch IIs’ Will Lewis was selected for the third division team of the season while Duncan Wright of Iscoyd and Fenns Bank made the cut for the fourth division team of the season.

Oswestry IIs’ James Bradbury and Steve Humphreys were joined by Hodnet and Peplow’s Ed Lewis and Muhammad Wasif in the division five team of the year.

Matt Phillips of Cae Glas and Dan Thomas of Coton Hall were joined by Calverhall duo Ian Millward and Toby Cantwell in the division six team of the year.

Dan Conde was named division seven player of the season and joined in the team of season by Whittington club-mate Barry Morris while Robin Williamson of Cae Glas IIs made the team of the year in division eight.

Gabe Hanratty of Oswestry IIIs, Noah Quin of Wem IIIs and Ankush Sehgel of Whitchurch IIIs were included in the Sunday Division Two team of the season.

Oswestry IVs’ Andrew Hall and Frankton IIIs’ Guy Roberts made the cut for the Sunday Division Three select.
