WHITCHURCH Colts etched their name into the club's history books with a 31-24 victory over a formidable Stockport side to book their place in the semi-finals of the National U18s Cup on Saturday.
The clash against the unbeaten North West rivals was always going to be a tough test with the two sides boasting a fierce rivalry and a history of nail-biting encounters.
Stockport held a slender 10-7 lead at the break but the second-half saw a resurgent Whitchurch outfit emerge with the wind at their backs.

The forwards laid the groundwork for victory, providing a constant stream of quality ball to the ever-impressive Charlie Fletcher at fly-half.
Fletcher, pulling the strings with aplomb, unleashed the destructive centre partnership of Harry Jackson and Wilson Walker who consistently punched holes in the Stockport defence with powerful carries.
Tom Barton proved to be an inspired selection and showcased his dazzling talent on the wing and scoring a truly scintillating try.
Victory was testament to the sheer grit and determination of every single player in a Whitchurch jersey, each one giving their all for their teammates and their club.

Despite the relentless pressure from Whitchurch, Stockport never gave up, showcasing their own attacking prowess with some breath-taking breakaway tries but it was Whitchurch who emerged victorious, clinching a hard-fought 24-31 win.
The Colts now march on to the semi-final which is scheduled for March 30.
