Whitchurch Alport eased to a comfortable 5-1 win at Uttoxeter Town in the Midlands Premier League on Saturday.

Alport trailed but goals from Ollie Holden, Tom Messham, Harry Bower, Lewis Bloor and Adam Hailes completed their comeback in Staffordshire.

Meanwhile Monday’s scheduled clash at home to Shifnal Town was postponed due to the weather.

Manager Adam Shillcock said: “I was delighted with the performance of the lads in last week. That’s three quality wins with two of them on the road. The lads are starting to build a belief in one another.

“The task was to build a younger group of players that can take the football club to the next step. We’ve managed to reduce average age if squad by close to seven years while also trying to achieve our best ever step five finish.

"The first objective is complete but we need to win all five remaining games. The belief is in the camp to do this.”

Former Wales youth international defender Jacob Edwards boosts the squad for the run in.

Shillcock added: “I want it to be all out attack. Our purpose and design is to dominate games. Sometimes it won’t come off but that’s our core values and belief."

Wem Town celebrated a 2-1 win at home to Morda United in the Salop Leisure Shropshire Premier League last midweek.

Logan Richards’ strike was not enough for the Yellows as Luke Parry and Keegan Green goals ensured a precious win for the Wemites.

Wem followed up their win with a 2-1 triumph at AMS on Saturday with Chris Peel netting both goals.
