WHITCHURCH Alport Football Club and Whitchurch Alport Juniors have completed their merger.
At this evening's annual meeting a committee vote saw 92 per cent vote in favour of a merger which follows a similar vote by the junior club committee which had yielded 96 per cent in favour.
The merger will result in a new structure of Whitchurch Alport Football Club and involve the creation of a Community Investment Company to oversee the business side of the football club and raise funds to then invest in the football side of the club at all levels.
A Whitchurch Alport Football Club spokesman said: "This will therefore result in greater sustainability for the football club, whilst allowing the club to grow further and progress at all levels.
"The change of structure is also an important step towards the football club securing funding for a 3G training facility at the football club.
"The club would like to thank all of those who have contributed to making the merger happen, and we look forward to a future as part of the fantastic organisation which is Whitchurch Alport FC."
