WHITCHURCH Alport ended their campaign with silverware with a 3-2 win over Haughmond in the TJ Vickers Cup last night.

The Reds' league season petered out after their FA Vase quarter-final exit but a tremendous fightback at the New Buck's Head earned them a trophy.

Haughmond led after 11 minutes with Joe Pratt cut inside to slot past goalkeeper Ellis Allen.

Alport toiled with top scorer Alex Hughes testing goalkeeper Sam Jones with a 25 yard free-kick after 22 minutes.

Alport continued to dominate and almost levelled through Ryan Allcock only to see his effort cleared off the line near the end of the half.

Allcock was not to be denied when he headed home from close range after Hughes' free-kick rattled the bar just before the break.

Haughmond regained their lead with 15 minutes remaining of the match with Jack Briscoe heading home but Alport hit back and were level five minutes later with Hughes slotting home after good work by Jacob Farleigh.

Moments later and Farleigh fired Alport ahead for the first time after good work by Dylan Bath and the Reds held firm to lift the cup.
