Wem cyclo-cross star Isaac Vickery has made it a quartet of victories after winning at home this month.

Isaac, riding for Mid Shropshire Wheelers, dominated round four of the West Midlands Cyclo Cross U12 league, which took place at Shrewsbury Sports Village.

Cheered on by friends and family, Isaac won by 30 seconds, ahead of Ben Bramford-Hale of Newport CC in second and Aidan Sherriff, Stratford CC, in third.

Dad Richard said Isaac was delighted to have friends and family on hand.

He said: "Isaac relished having friends and family present to support him and he didn’t let them down.

"After an explosive start Isaac gave his competitors a glimpse of hope when slipping his pedal on the bone dry and very rough off-camber section.

"But he didn’t panic and quickly recovered and pushed on to win the 20-minute race by more than 30 seconds.

"Isaac now heads to the Heart of England Conference and Events Centre in Coventry for round five, which takes place on October 3.
