THE new Whitchurch Business Group has launched a programme of events and initiates ahead of its first networking event on June 30.

Whitchurch Business Group is a rebrand of the Whitchurch Chamber of Commerce and Trade, with the new name signifying the start of a new programme of activities and initiatives throughout Whitchurch.

The newly renamed group has also launched a new website, and mark the new venture with a networking event on June 30 at Dodington Lodge, from 6pm.

Hilary Seward, from Whitchurch Business Group, explained the things on offer from the group.

She said: "We have been working behind the scenes to bring you a fresh new look for 2021.

"We have a brand new website updated regularly with business listings, events and vacancies pages.

"Active Facebook pages, open and closed.

"And two networking meetings monthly, where we can have a laugh, help motivate each other and help make working in Whitchurch successful for everyone.

"There will also be 50 per cent off half page advertisements in the Welcome Back Whitchurch voucher magazine, with three issues per year printed.

"Network meetings and events, with the first meeting on Wednesday, June 30 at the Dodington Lodge at 6pm and a business event on Wednesday, September 8 at the Dodington lodge at 12.30pm."

Hilary says the group also has future projects lined up to help promote the town.

"The goal is to support each other and help Whitchurch thrive, share information on grants, rates, BID/AOB and work closely with the new Whitchurch council for the benefit of businesses & residents," added Hilary.

"Potential projects include new signage on entrances to Whitchurch encouraging visitors, bringing back the Saturday Markets, promoting shop local initiatives and supporting Blackberry Fair with gates or rising bollards or planters for road closures in Green End."

Membership for the new group is open, costing £80 for the year and for more information and to sign up, contact enquiries@whitchurchbusinessgroup.co.uk
