Wem Athletic will play under a new name next season after formally becoming Prees Athletic following three years as an independent club.
The Division Two Shrewsbury Sunday League side have played their home games at Prees for the past two years but have now completed the move to become an official Prees FC team.
The club believe the switch will give them far greater potential, with increased opportunities available at what they describe as a fantastic setup and pathway.

They have thanked sponsors CRF UK Ltd, Let Loose Dog Park, Salamanca Training, Crendon Timber, Clean Cut Barber Shop and all other backers who supported them during the Wem Athletic era.
The club’s aim now is to establish themselves as a strong Sunday League outfit capable of regularly challenging for league titles and cups, while helping to develop and retain local players in the area.
Bosses say they are keen to grow both the playing squad and the club’s backing off the pitch over the coming seasons as they settle into life under the Prees Athletic banner.
