A WEM-based kite manufacturer ensured there was an exhilarating display over the skies of Wales at a recent kite flying festival.

Sky Bums Kite Designers, run Paul and Helene Morgan, provided the entertainment at the Gwyl y Barcud Kite Festival, at Cardigan Island Coastal Farm Park in south Wales.

The festival was the fourth running of the event and saw three days of kite flying action, after 2020's event was cancelled.

Lyn Jenkins, of Cardigan Island Coastal Farm Park, said the event was a welcome return and thanked all those who took part.

He said: "The kite-flyers all thoroughly enjoyed the exhilarating freedom of participating once more in their wonderful, colourful past-time in perfect weather conditions at a stunning scenic location and all ideally socially-distanced.

"It was the first kite-flying display that these great enthusiasts had managed to attend in over a year.

"Our family are grateful to them all for putting on such a fantastic three-day kite-flying display, after the most difficult year in living memory of most people.

"We are also grateful to Councillor Clive Davies for his unfailing support and his knowledgeable assistance with social media matters.

"Tourism is vital to both Ceredigion and Wales.

"This fourth annual 'Gwyl y Barcud' Kite Festival drew many visitors to the whole Cardigan and South Ceredigion area and gave a great deal of pleasure to all the children who viewed the colourful display and participated in kite-flying.

"Thank-you very much to all who attended."
