Popular TV show Destination X has reportedly been renewed for a second series after some had feared it was cancelled.
The show, hosted by Rob Brydon, debuted in 2025, airing ten episodes through July and August.
Despite receiving millions of viewers over the course of the show, there were fears it had been axed after just one series.
However, reports are now emerging that Destination X will return for a second outing.
BBC's Destination X 'renewed for series 2' after axing fears
It is expected that the BBC will soon confirm that the show has been officially recommissioned, according to The Sun.
However, it may not air until 2027, with filming rumoured to be taking place later this summer.
A TV insider said: "The show developed quite a following, and those devotees will obviously be thrilled it is coming back — despite fears it may not.
"The only downside is that filming won’t start until late summer, which means that by the time it airs next year, almost two years will have passed between the first and second series.
"But in a TV landscape where lots of shows don’t make it to a second series, fans will be prepared to wait."
The BBC did not comment when approached by Newsquest.
The fears that the BBC had axed the show were not only due to its high cost to make but also because there had been no confirmation regarding its future in the year since it was first broadcast.
A crew of 190 people was used to film the series, which involved two specially fitted-out coaches travelling more than 11,000 km (6,875 miles).
The two coaches had opaque windows which could be briefly made transparent by the production team at the flick of a switch.
One coach was used for daytime travel with luxury seats (and a toilet), with a second coach fitted out as sleeping quarters for the contestants.
A third vehicle was used to transport portable toilets.
How does Destination X work?
The BBC’s reality gameshow ran for several weeks and saw various locations visited from Monaco to Switzerland.
Gamemaster Rob Brydon led the group of contestants around a handful of European towns, cities and countries with one objective in mind.
In each episode, they worked to figure out 'where the X they are', by using only clues gathered from challenges.
But over the weeks, players were dumped from the X-bus if they placed their X too far away on the map when the time came to guess.

The person left at the very end wins, which in series one was Judith, a 28-year-old nuclear engineer from Bristol, who took home a staggering £100,000.
She beat out 26-year-old Josh, a pilot from Dartford, and 25-year-old marketing executive Saskia, from Birmingham.
