The Bay is set to return to our screens with its third series on Wednesday January 12, 2022.

ITV’s show has been filled with drama since it began with difficult situations arising including children going missing, an ex-partner reappearing and criminals being hunted down.

It follows the police force as they try to get to the bottom of incidents but also explores the family life of main characters, including the police officers.

The new series is made up of six episodes and the first one is expected to get straight back into the drama.

What will happen in the first episode of The Bay?

This time we’ll see Morven Christie’s character DS Lisa Armstrong replaced by a new Family Liaison Officer begin her job in Morecambe, where the show is set.

DS Jenn Townsend, played by Marsha Thomason, has no time to waste as a body is found in the first episode.
