Eastenders star Adam Woodyatt has reportedly signed up to this year’s series of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here.

Woodyatt, who grew up in Llanidloes, is famous for his portrayal of Albert Square legend Ian Beale who has been absent from the soap after his role in the death of young Dennis, son of Sharon.

Woodyatt has not featured on the long-running BBC soap since early 2021 when his character left the square and has been touring the UK with his role in the theatre production of Peter James’ Looking Good Dead.

Adam Woodyatt ‘signs up’ for I’m a Celebrity 2021

According to reports in national media, the 53-year-old has signed a huge deal to feature on the latest series of the ITV hit alongside Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly.

ITV bosses are said to be “very excited” to have signed the soap legend up for this year’s series.

A source told The Sun: “Adam was a big target for the casting team — he is a soap legend and is certain to be a huge hit with fans.

“But they knew they might have their work cut out because he has been quite reticent to do interviews or reality TV shows in recent years.

“When you consider how long he has been a household name, he has only agreed to a handful of TV appearances outside of Albert Square.”

They added: “Everyone is very excited about having him on the show. He’s a brilliant addition.”

Richard Madeley and Lucy Fallon rumoured to be taking part in I’m A Celebrity 2021.

Woodyatt would follow in the footsteps of fellow Eastenders legend Shane Richie who appeared in the 2020 series.

Good Morning Britain presenter Richard Madeley has reportedly signed a £200,000 deal to take on the show’s infamous Bushtucker Trials.

Former Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon, known for playing Bethany Platt in the ITV soap is another rumoured contestant as speculation continues.

An ITV spokesperson said: “Any names suggested for the new series of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! are just speculation.”
