WEIGHTLIFTER Amy Salt is dreaming of Commonwealth Games glory after earning a call to the Welsh squad for the forthcoming sporting extravaganza in Birmingham.
The former Bishop Heber High School student was born in Wrexham and attended primary school in Coedpoeth before crossing the border to attend high school in Malpas and she currently resides in Derbyshire.
Salt trains with Olympians and other Commonwealth Games athletes at the city's Atlas Workout Warehouse and will now be among their number when she dons the famous red vest of Wales.
Amy Salt will represent Wales at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham this summer.
Her current personal best total is 201kg which she gained at the British Championships this year and iss hoping to attain 210+ total at the games which could potentially get a bronze medal.
She has also set her sights on lifting 120kg in the clean and jerk category which would extend her Welsh record and put her in the running for a medal.
