A 25-minute diversion will be in place over the course of September while a bridge is repaired near Ellesmere
Shropshire Council have confirmed that Tetchill Bridge – which crosses over the Tetchill Brook – will be closed for repairs from September 7-30.
The council have confirmed that the works will see a number of works to renovate the bridge and improve its safety.
A spokesperson for Shropshire Council said: “The work involves the installation of a concrete liner with application of a paint system, the construction of concrete down stands to both the upstream and downstream ends, new parapet posts to be installed with a replaced steel mesh infill panel to the parapet, and general vegetation removal from the structure.
“To carry out the proposed work safely it will be necessary to close the bridge to vehicular traffic. The closure will be in force 24/7.”

While the road is closed a diversion will be in place which will see cars being diverted via Lee, Lower Hordley and Hordley which the council has said will add on around 25 minutes to journey times.
Shropshire Council have said that “depending on their vehicle type, road users may be able to choose an alternative diversion route”.
Access over the bridge for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will still be available throughout the works and “access to frontages will be maintained up to the bridge closure”.
The work will be carried out by Shropshire Council’s term maintenance contractor Kier, with supervision being provided by WSP on behalf of Shropshire Council.
To inform the public of the proposals, advance notice signs will be erected at the bridge and an information letter delivered to local properties.
