A 30mph speed limit is set to be extended outside a north Shropshire school.
Shropshire Council hopes to expand the 30mph zone outside Welshampton Primary School, near Ellesmere, as part of safety improvements.
The proposal is currently subject to public consultation.
As part of the proposal, the 30mph zone would be extended on Stocks Lane and Station Lane with the aim of reducing the speed in the vicinity of the school car park.
In particular, Stocks Lane would change from its junction with the A495, which goes through the middle of the village, to a point 63 metres northwest of its junction with Station Lane.

And on Station Lane, the speed limit would be imposed from its junction with Stocks Lane to a point 45 metres northeast of that junction.
The consultation says: "The extension of the existing 30mph speed limit on Stocks Lane and Station Lane, Welshampton is proposed to reduce speed in the vicinity of the car park for Welshampton Primary School, to improve safety of school children and other road users."
If approved, any existing speed limit would be revoked.

A separate consultation is also running alongside the speed reduction which seeks to introduce waiting restrictions at the A495 Stocks Lane and Copes Lane junctions.
Shropshire Council says this is "intended to improve visibility for all road users and pedestrians when exiting onto the A495."
Both public consultations will be in place until August 31. The documents can be viewed online at getinvolved.shropshire.gov.uk/consultations/ or by visiting Ellesmere Library.
