A town centre convenience store in Ellesmere has closed for 10 weeks to allow for refurbishment work.

The Co-op on Cross Street closed its doors on Saturday (August 1) evening.

It is not due to reopen until October 23 to allow for the extensive renovation work to be carried out.

While the closure is ongoing, a pop-up shop will be based on the neighbouring Cross Street/Talbot Street car park.

A Co-op spokesperson said: “Co-op pop-up shop is opening to continue to serve and support the community with a wide range of everyday essentials available conveniently during the refurbishments.”

They added that the pop-up shop is currently due to open on August 23.
