Fire crews from five stations called out to near Ellesmere

Multiple fire crews were called out after 100 metres of hedgerow caught fire near Ellesmere.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service have confirmed that crews from five different stations were called out to Hordley after reports of a fire in a field.

Firefighters from the stations in Baschurch, Ellesmere, Prees, Wem and Whitchurch were all called to the scene at 3.19pm this afternoon (July 27).

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that upon arriving at the scene firefighters found a fire involving "one hectare of stubble" and "100 metres of hedgerow."
