A Bootle man has been jailed and issued a restraining order after assaulting a woman twice in Whitchurch.

Liam Mooney, 36, of Chaucer Street, Bootle, admitted to assault and actual bodily harm after a pair of incidents in Whitchurch earlier this year.

In a hearing at Telford Magistrates Court it was heard that in two separate incidents Mooney assaulted a woman while in the town.

Mooney pleaded guilty to one charge of common assault which took place March 21 and another charge of Actual Bodily Harm, in an incident with the same woman, on April 28 which left her injured.

It was heard that Mooney committed the offences while on license from prison.

Mooney was sentenced to 10 weeks in jail and a restraining order was issued against him which will mean he cannot contact his victim.
