Cheshire Police charges two people over Malpas postbox theft

TWO people accused of stealing post boxes from Malpas in Cheshire and also in Powys have been charged.

Cheshire Police has confirmed that Carl Newman, 33 and Georga Bailey, 26 – who were both arrested in 2025 – were charged one Monday.

Newman, of Farnborough Road, Farnborough, and Bailey, of High Street, Camberley, are accused of three counts of theft by finding.

A spokesman for the force confirmed their court date.

They said: “The pair have now been conditionally bailed to appear at Chester Magistrates' Court on Friday 28 August.

“The charges relate to the thefts of three King George Royal Mail post boxes in the Malpas area of Cheshire and Powys area of Wales.”
