Transport for Wales has confirmed that a fault in Nantwich this morning (Wednesday, April 15).

"As a result, train services will not be able to run from Crewe to Shrewsbury until the points have been fixed.

"Our services will be diverted from Crewe to Shrewsbury via Chester. This means that services from Crewe towards Nantwich, Wrenbury, Whitchurch, Prees, Wem and Yorton will be cancelled until the issue is rectified.

"Our colleagues at Network Rail are aware of the problem and technicians are currently en route to the affected area.

In the interim buses are running between Crewe and Shrewsbury.

TfW added: "We have organised buses to run between Crewe and Shrewsbury to help you complete your journey, at no extra cost. These will arrive at Crewe at approximately 12.42pm provided by Lakeside.
