Soulton Hall is to host a weekend of theatre featuring Dracula and Romeo and Juliet.
British Touring Shakespeare is set to return to the Tudor estate for two nights of performances in August.
The weekend will begin on Saturday, August 1 with a new adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula.
The version shifts focus to Mina Harker, presenting her as a "formidable vampire hunter" standing before a "skeptical Victorian scientific society."
On Sunday, August 2, the company will present Romeo and Juliet, with a focus on the "darkening skies" of parental tyranny and the dysfunctional factionalism that traps the young lovers.
Both performances are set for the open air, with attendees encouraged to bring their own seating and picnics to enjoy on the lawn.
A spokesperson for the event said: "The partnership between the company and Soulton Hall is a long and celebrated one, rooted in a shared commitment to making classic stories feel urgent and alive.
"This year, the double bill explores two masterpieces that delve into the struggle for truth and agency against the backdrop of rigid social structures.
"The historical gravity of the site—a monument to Renaissance humanist thought—provides the perfect environment for this story of intellectual resistance and survival."
Soulton Hall, built in 1556, offers a "direct connection" to the era that birthed Shakespeare, enriching the experience for theatre-goers.
The estate, which predates the Elizabethan era, is described as offering more than just a stage, but a direct link to Shakespeare's time.
Dracula will be performed on Saturday, August 1, at 6pm, and Romeo and Juliet on Sunday, August 2, at 3pm.
Tickets are available via the Soulton Hall website.
Both performances will take place at Soulton Hall, near Wem, in Shropshire.
